Michael T. McElhaney
Funeral Director/Owner
Mike was born and raised in Huntington, Indiana. He graduated from Huntington North High School in 1987, attended Ball State University then graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1989. After graduation Mike returned to Huntington to begin his career. He worked for the late Morris Hart, owner of Hart Funeral Home. In 2002, Mike purchased the funeral home and it is now known as McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home.
Mike married Christi McElhaney, a Huntington native as well, and together they have six children.
Barbara Young
Administrative Assistant
Barb is a lifelong resident of Huntington. She graduated from Huntington North High School in 1990 and ITT Technical Institute in 1992. After graduation, Barb worked for the Huntington County Courthouse for 11 years. After taking 8 years off to raise her family, she began working at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home in 2012 as an Administrative Assistant. Barb received her Life Insurance certification in 2016 and now serves as the Pre Need Care Counselor for the funeral home. She and her husband, John, reside in Huntington with their four sons, Jack, Brant, Ross and Quinn.
