William "Bill" J. Richardson

Bill Richardson, 73, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Parkview Regional Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. 

Mr. Richardson was born on September 25, 1949, in Huntington, IN, to Robert and Anna (Kocher) Richardson. His parents preceded him in death.  He married Carolyn Meehan on October 16, 1982, and she preceded him in death on March 17, 2015.

Bill was a 1968 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School.   He worked at the former Erie Department Store in Huntington and was also a self-employed electrician.   He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, IN, and a member of the Knights of Columbus #1014, Huntington, IN.

Bill is survived by one son, William “Bill” Richardson Jr. of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Jennifer Richardson, Arlington, TX, and Susie Richardson, Huntington, IN. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jazzmen (Samantha) Hardes and Christian Hughes; one brother, Tom (Barb) Richardson, Plainfield, IN; two sisters, Margaret Robinette, Hubert, NC, and Rose Decker, Huntington, IN.

Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Richardson Jr., and his first wife, Sally Faulk.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. with calling hours one hour prior to Mass from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750, with Father Thomas Zehr, presiding.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN, at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 7, 2022.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St, Huntington, IN   46750.
