William "Bill" M. Gamble

William “Bill” M. Gamble, age 83, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.

Bill was born on February 15, 1942, in Huntington, IN, to the late Leslie H. and Opal “Peg” (Hoag) Gamble.  Bill married Ellen (Weiland) Brothers on September 4, 1999, and she survives and resides in Huntington.  

Bill was a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local #103 and was very proud of his service there. Bill was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntington. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding and just being outdoors.

Along with his wife, Ellen, he is survived by two daughters, Dona (Brad) Dinius, Jennifer (Douglas) Ray, both of Roanoke, IN; one son, John (Kelli) Brothers, Kokomo, IN; one brother, Mike (Lora) Gamble, Huntington, IN; 7 grandchildren, Nichole Karst (Ryan Smith), Tyler Karst (Gretchen Winebrenner), Sierra Dinius (Nate Newsome), Joshua Ray (Jacy Boan), Jon (Emily) Ray, David Brothers, Ewan Brothers; and one great-grandson, Evan Ray.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two infant children, Theresa Gamble, Billy Gamble; two brothers, Bob Gamble, Dave Gamble; and one sister, Betty Beeks.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.

Additional calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Fr. Thomas Zehr presiding.

The burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
