William B. Meads, Jr., age 76, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN.
William was born on November 26, 1947, in Cadillac, MI, to the late Rev. Bruce and Rose (Scittine) Meads. William married Peggy L. (Frederick) Bowers in 1989. She survives and resides in Huntington.
William graduated from Ft. Collins County High School in 1966. He served in the United States Airforce. He was a retired printer and construction worker. He also worked in sales at Lowe’s in Fort Wayne. Bill loved watching Nascar racing, remodeling homes, and loved his family and spending time together. He was definitely known for being the jokester.
Along with his wife, Peggy, he is survived by five sons, Andrew Tyler (Danielle) Meads, Anthony Joseph (Elizabeth) Meads, both of Warsaw, IN; Jeremiah Meads, Carl Lee Bowers, Lagrange, IN, Christopher Michael (Andrea) Bowers, Fort Wayne, IN; one daughter, Angela Joanne (Kyle) Redner, Huntington, IN; one sister, Angela (Steven) Parker, Cheboygan, MI; brother-in-law, Burt Kettinger, Naperville, IL; and 10 grandchildren, Kayleb Redner, Austin Meads, Clair Redner, Mikayla Meads, Madison Bowers, Taylor Meads, Elijah Bowers, Logan Meads, Isaac Meyer, and John Wayne Meads.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Kettinger.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.
The burial will be at Union Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
