William E. Kahn

William E. Kahn 92, of Roanoke, IN, passed away at The Heritage of Huntington January 24, 2024.

William was born on October 20, 1931, to William D. and Vadis (Green) Kahn in Wells County, Indiana.  He married Norma Waggoner on June 15, 1951.

He graduated in 1950 from Lancaster High School Wells, County, IN.  He worked for Dana Corporation Fort Wayne, IN, retiring after 44 years.  William was a member of the Circle W Horse Club, he enjoyed riding and working with horses.  He could often be found on the weekends at many Auctions and a few garage sales he was well known at the horse auctions up in Shipshewana, IN

William is survived by his wife, Norma, one son; Randy (Judy) Kahn of Waynedale, IN, two daughters; Deb Kahn, Roanoke, IN and Pam (Don “Tiny”) Wright, Roanoke, IN, one sister Connie Adams, Ohio City, Ohio, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.   

William was preceded in death by his parents, one son James Kahn (October 17, 2023) three bothers Paul, Jack, and Tom Kahn, 5 sisters Dixie Smith, Judy Brickley, Sally Rehm, Becky Garber and Linda Luginbill.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday ( January 31, 2024)  from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  with funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home-Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN.

There will be a graveside service immediately following Glenwood Cemetery Roanoke, IN.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made out to Stillwater Hospice or American Cancer Society in care of McElhaney Funeral Home – Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN, 46783.
