William F. Christman

William F. Christman, age 98, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.

Bill was born on June 13, 1927, in Huntington, IN, to the late Herman and Isabell (Eckert) Christman. He married Victoria “Vickie” A. Ritter on October 29, 1949, in Huntington, IN.  She preceded him in death on February 19, 2017.

Bill proudly served in the United States Army. He worked in the envelope department at Our Sunday Visitor for 48 years and was also a farmer. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington.

Bill is survived by six sons, Gary (Patty) Christman, Huntington, IN, Rick (Jill) Christman, Andrews, IN, David (Jacqui) Christman, Kevin (Sunday) Christman, Greg Christman, all of Huntington, IN, Joseph (Michelle) Christman, Urbana, IN; two daughters, Linda Griffith, Karen (Jim) Wiley, both of Huntington, IN; one brother, Herman “Pink” Christman; Fort Wayne, IN; 22 grandchildren, and 45 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife, Victoria, he was preceded in death by one son, William Christman; two brothers, Edward Christman, Ralph Christman; one sister, Ruth Wyatt; and son-in-law, Kim Griffith.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. all at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN, with Fr. Tony Steinacker presiding.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Masses for SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church or to Huntington Catholic School in care of McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.

A private burial will be at a later date at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
