Virginia A. Graft, age 98, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at her residence.
Virginia was born on November 19, 1926, in Decatur, IN, to the late Charles and Mabel (Ladd) Eyanson. She married Christian O. Graft on May 8, 1948, and he preceded her in death on August 9, 2011.
Virginia graduated in 1945 from Decatur Catholic High School and retired in 1993 from ITT, after working there many years. She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 160 in Roanoke where she was Past Unit President and Past 5th District President of the American Legion Aux. She was also a Gold Star Mother.
Virginia is survived by two daughters, Beverly K. Kelley, Muncie, IN, Linda Graft, Chicago, IL; 6 grandchildren, Jeff Vannatta, Gary Vannatta, Doug Graft, Kyle Graft, Michael Graft, Natalie Fisher; 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sons, Terry Graft, Chris Graft, James Graft; and three sisters, Charlene Shoup, Naomi Boroff and Agnes Miller; and one brother Don Eyanson.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. all at McElhaney Funeral Home-Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN, with Pastor Bruce Reynolds officiating.
Burial will be private.
