Tracie Ann Walker, age 62, of Huntington, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, after a long yet courageous battle with breast cancer.  She was born November 5, 1961, in Rockville, Maryland to Max Alton and Lucy (Robinson) Geyer who survives and resides in Huntington. Tracie married Bret Walker on November 24, 1991, and he resides in Huntington, Indiana.

Tracie graduated from Huntington North High School in 1979 and from St. Joe School of Nursing in 1982 as a Registered Nurse. She had a combined 30 years of dedicated service with the former Family Practice Associates, later becoming Parkview Huntington Family Medicine, as an office nurse.  She was also a former Huntington County Public Health Nurse and Health Department Office Manager, and former nurse at Oldham County Pediatrics in LaGrange, KY.  She was a winner of the National Florence Nightingale Award for Nursing representing Parkview’s Family Medicine Group.  Tracie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntington, an avid gardener and collector of all things pretty.

Tracie will always be remembered by those who knew her as a very compassionate friend who was always there to listen and lift you up.  She never knew a stranger, and her sense of humor and adventurous spirit was infectious.
