Thomas Plasterer Obituary

Thomas Orville Plasterer, age 78, of Claypool, IN, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, IN.

Thomas was born on May 31, 1946, in Huntington, Indiana to the late Ora Orville and Dorothy Lula (Roberts) Plasterer.  He married Maryann Bugajski on August 26, 1967, and was married 55 years before her passing on August 20, 2022. His second marriage was to Mary Elizabeth Blocher on October 19, 2024, and she survives.

Thomas was a 1964 graduate of Andrews High School. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1965-1968, during the Vietnam War, as a member of the 212th Military Police Company (K9 / Sentry Dog).  He was a Plant Manager/Foreman for many different manufacturing facilities in Huntington and Fort Wayne. Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting guns and knives, knife/axe throwing, Indiana basketball, watching western/military movies, catching up with his Army buddies, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and recitals.  Thomas loved history especially World War II and the Old West.

Thomas was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. He had a strong faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ which he shared with everyone and used to help guide others through the good and bad times life presents.  He was someone we could always turn to for help, and guidance, and he would use these times to remind us to have faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Thomas loved his family dearly, sharing in the joys of his family’s lives, being PaPa for his 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and leading by example through faith in Jesus Christ. Thomas was surrounded by his loving family during his last hours.

Thomas is survived by two sons, Ross (Ann) Plasterer, Fort Wayne, IN, Matthew (Heather) Plasterer, Roanoke, IN; one daughter, Sarah (David) Weber, Fort Wayne, IN; 14 grandchildren, Austin, Kyle, Adam, Kelsey, Elizabeth, Madison, Mark, Ashley, Faith, Shane, Rachel, Kristen, Gwen and Grace; and two great- grandchildren, Maya and Grayson.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Ann Weaver; and one brother, Terry L. Plasterer.
