Thomas was born on September 24, 1955, in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late John A. and Dorothy M. (Gutmann) Baker. He married Gayla Baker on May 23, 1987, and she resides and survives in Columbia City, IN.
Thomas graduated from Homestead High School in 1974. Thomas’s passion was farming, and he enjoyed running the family farm. He also worked as a machinist at QIG and Qualitex, in Columbia City.
Thomas enjoyed playiing on a men's 8-Ball pool league in Fort Wayne for 15 years. He played locally and also played in state and international tournaments winning several trophies and awards.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Baker; and one sister, Carolyn L. Stech.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Holzinger Seed Barn by the pond, 733 N. Wolf Road, Columbia City, IN.
