Steven L. Redding, age 68, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Parkview Randallia Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.
Steven was born on April 29, 1955, in Huntington, IN, to the late Eldon L. Redding, Jr., and Carol (Shideler) Fuller. He married Rebecca L. (Welch) Redding on May 17, 1974, and she preceded him in death on December 26, 2020.
Steven attended high school in Indianapolis and lived there for a while during his teenage years. He lived most of his life in Huntington and worked at Scott’s/Kroger grocery stores before retiring in 2014. The last two and a half years he has been a resident in Fort Wayne. Steven was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Huntington for over 30 years and held a Treasurer position while attending there. While in Fort Wayne he had been attending Parkwood Church of God.
Steven is survived by one son, Chad Redding; one daughter, Stephanie (Adam) Clevenger, both of Fort Wayne, IN; two brothers, Rick (Susie) Redding, Terre Haute, IN, Bryan (Jennifer) Redding, Westfield, IN; one sister, Beverly (Charlie) Coombs, Indianapolis, IN; and one granddaughter, Adelyn Clevenger.
Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Janice Redding, and stepfather, James Fuller.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home – Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN, 46783, with Pastor Jim Keckler officiating.
A Graveside Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
