Steffon Glen McDowell

Steffon Glen McDowell, age 64, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Cincinnati Medical Center after injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  

Glen was born on December 17, 1960, in Wheelright, KY, to the late Tom E. and Glenda Sue (Johnson) McDowell.

Glen graduated from Huntington North High School in 1977 and proudly served in the Army National Guard. He had retired from being a contract roofer for over 20 years. Glen was a former member of the Eagles Lodge, VFW, and had attended First Freewill Baptist Church in Huntington.  Glen enjoyed fishing, hiking, watching western movies and old war movies and was a motorcycle enthusiast.  Glen enjoyed his many adventures and traveling with his cousin Bobby. Glen was always showing up and helping anyone with anything needed.

Glen is survived by three sons, Jason McDowell, New Castle, IN, Steven (Lara) McDowell, North Manchester, IN, William (Tracy) McDowell, Evansville, IN; two stepsons, Michael (Kassi) Hartweck, Christopher (Mallory) Hartweck; one sister, Patricia Morse, Huntington, IN; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Glenda McDowell, maternal grandparents Delphia and Willie Johnson, paternal grandparents, Helen and Harry McDowell and a plethora of aunts and uncles.

The calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.

A Graveside Service will follow at 1:15 p.m. at Clear Creek Cemetery, 3213 W 750 N, Huntington, IN.
