Sr. Sharon Rose Eshleman, OLVM Obituary

SISTER SHARON ROSE ESHLEMAN, OLVM, 84, a resident of Saint Anne Community Victory Noll, died at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, IN, on Saturday, February 27, 2021.

Sister Sharon Rose was born in Adrian, Minnesota on May 9, 1936, to Lester Eshleman and Genevieve (Fix) Eshleman. Four sisters, Valrahe Eshleman, Bonnette Eshleman, Lorraine Henderson and Ardis Beaver, and two brothers Duane and Leland Eshleman, precede her in death. Surviving sister are her two brothers, Ardin of Buckley, Illinois and Dallas of Waterford, Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews; and her Victory Noll Sisters with whom she shared life and ministry for 61 years.

Sister Sharon Rose entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on September 5, 1959, and made first vows on August 5, 1962.  She served in the missions in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Utah, New Mexico, in religious education, although her specialty became bereavement ministry.  In 1989, the Leadership Team invited her to return to Victory Noll to serve as the Leadership Team secretary and then in 1999, to be the librarian for the Victory Noll Library. She continued to do bereavement ministry as a hospice volunteer. Her hobby was helping caterpillars become Monarch butterflies, something she taught many in the Huntington community to do.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021.  Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, services will be for the sisters only and will be livestreamed.  Please contact victorynoll@olvm.org for the livestream link.

Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
