Sondra "Kathy" (Hoover) Connolly

Sondra “Kathy” Connolly, age 70, of Warsaw, IN, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital Kosciusko, Warsaw, IN.

Kathy was born on October 13, 1954, in Huntington, IN, to the late Herbert and Lillian “Vonnie” (Detwiler) Hoover.  She married Melvin Connolly on November 13, 1987, and he survives in Warsaw, IN.

Kathy graduated from Huntington North High School in 1973. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and made a very delicious lasagna. She enjoyed gardening, shopping at Goodwill, family time, and you could usually find her with her favorite drink, Pepsi. Even though she was a good cook, she never turned down the opportunity to go out to eat.  Kathy will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Along with her husband, Melvin, Kathy is survived by three sons, Steve (Jennifer) McNally, Huntington, IN, Andrew Meads, Tony (Elizabeth) Meads, both of Warsaw, IN; two daughters, Sarah (Juan) Connolly-Alonzo, Warsaw, IN, Mackenzie Connolly (Daniel Rosas), Alice, TX; 11 grandchildren, Morgan, Emma, Owen, Ella, Abbie, Madison, Taylor, Logan, Mikayla, Austin, Yuta; and two great-grandchildren, Cambry and Delaney.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Hoover Caverly and one brother, Randy Hoover.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed with a 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St. Huntington, IN 46750.

A private burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to the Donor’s Choice in care of McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
