Shirley A. Stoffel, 92, passed away on December 28, 2024, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Shirley was born on September 12, 1932, in Decatur, IN, to the late Harry C. and Violet P. (Friend) Lee. Shirley married Louis A. Stoffel on September 12, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1994.
Mrs. Stoffel was a 1950 graduate of Huntington Township High School. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN. Shirley was a cook at Parkview Huntington Hospital where she retired after 30 years and was a self- employed seamstress for many in Huntington County. She loved her family, bird watching, gardening and crocheting.
Mrs. Stoffel is survived by four sons, Gary Lee (Linda) Stoffel, Huntington, IN; Timothy Allen (Kellie) Stoffel, Roanoke, IN, James (Sarah) Stoffel, New Palestine, IN, Louis Michael (Brenda) Stoffel, Roanoke, IN; and four daughters, Carla Wintrode, Huntington, IN, Ann Stoffel, Huntington, IN, Susan (Robert) Ruschhaupt, Huntington, IN, and Catherine (Robert) Aplin, Huntington, IN. She is also survived by two sisters, Donna (Jay) Jellison, Huntington, IN, and Virginia VanHorn, Peru, IN; 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Louis, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Ann; one son-in-law, Michael Wintrode; and one brother, Robert Lee.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 p.m., with Father Tony Steinacker officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN, at a later date.
