Shirley Jean (Arnold) (Masterson) Lyons

Shirley Jean (Masterson) Lyons, age 88, of Bluffton, IN, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at River Terrace, Bluffton, IN.

Shirley was born on October 28, 1934, in Bluffton, IN, to the late John and Edith (Bowman) Arnold.  She married Marlin Masterson in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1995.  Her second marriage was to Billy J. Lyons on August 21, 1996, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2014.

Shirley was a child care provider out of her home for many years. She was a member of the Liberty Center Baptist Church, Liberty Center, IN.   Also a member of the American Legion #160 Auxiliary, Roanoke, IN.   Shirley enjoyed crocheting, painting, crafts, sewing, and watching soap operas and making cookies and especially her family.

Shirley is survived by two sons, David Masterson, Marion, IN, Paul (Lora) Masterson, Poneto, IN; four daughters, Debra (Kevin) Smith, Punta Gorda, FL, Sandra (Rick) Nine, Roanoke, IN, Christina Eckelbarger, Bluffton, IN, Beth (Bob)Fuller, Marion, IN; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by one daughter Paula Murray, one grandson, Michael Dunn; two brothers, Bill Arnold, Larry Arnold; and two sisters, Evelyn Stammen and Phyllis Harness.

Calling hours will be held on Friday May 5, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

 Funeral Service Saturday, May 6, 2023  at 11:00 am with calling one hour prior from 10;00 am to 11:00 am all at McElhaney Funeral Home-Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN, 46783, with Pastor Aaron Westfall officiating.

Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, IN.
