Shirley Rose (Earhart) Mann

Shirley Rose Mann, 91, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at her residence in Huntington.

Shirley was born on August 13, 1932, in Huntington, IN, to the late Raymond and Louise (Peting) Earhart.  She married Richard J. Mann and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2019.

Shirley was a 1950 graduate of Huntington High School and then graduated from Ball State University with a Nursing degree in 1954. She was a school nurse for many years and later worked at Mann’s Plumbing & Heating in the office. Shirley was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and past member of Tri Kappa and past President of the YMCA board.   Shirley was an avid Purdue fan!

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Michael) Holthaus, Mason, OH, Emily Mann, Fort Lauderdale, FL; one granddaughter, Gretchen Holthaus; and one sister, Anne (Gary) White, Decorah, IA.

To honor the wishes of Shirley there will be no calling hours or service.

A private graveside burial will be held at a later date at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Richard J. and Shirley R. Mann Scholarship at Huntington University, in care of McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.
