Shaun Michael Bickel

Shaun Michael Bickel, age 66, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Shaun was born on May 9, 1958, in Huntington, to the late Paul N. “Punk” and Patricia Ann “Patsy” (Kelly) Bickel. He married Deborah E. (Broxon) Bickel on June 2, 1979, and she survives and resides in Huntington.

Shaun was a 1976 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School and attended Purdue University and IPFW. He was a Manager at the Erie Department store for 29 years until it closed and then he was a Manager at Ace Hardware for 15 years. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Shaun enjoyed playing in the bowling league with the Knights of Columbus and he was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting.

Along with his wife, Shaun is survived by one son, Brett Jeffrey Bickel, Huntington, IN; one daughter, Tara Nicole Bickel (Raymond Felts), Lebanon, TN; two sisters, Shannon Clark, Michelle “Shellie” Bickel (Kris Geyer), both of Huntington, IN; very special friends, Joe and Janice Bruce; five grandchildren, Kirsten (David) Esparza, Jovey Bickel, Zane Bickel, Tatum Bickel, Payten Blair; and 3 great-grandchildren, Laila Raine, Jamison, and Maxton.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Recitation of the Rosary to begin at 3:30 pm at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St, Huntington, IN.  

Additional calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am all at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main Street, Roanoke, IN, 46783, with Fr. Dale Bauman presiding.

A private burial will be at a later date.
