Sarah P. (Elzey) Keplinger

Sarah P. Keplinger, 88, of Huntington, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN.

Mrs. Keplinger was born on July 23, 1934, in Bluffton, IN, to Alvin Dayton William and Vivian Ilene (Davison) Elzey.  Her parents preceded her in death.   She married Richard Keplinger, Sr., on May 10, 1952, and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2020.

Sarah was a factory worker and homemaker.  She had worked at Memcor in Huntington for over 33 years.

Sarah is survived by two sons, Rick Keplinger, Jr., Jeff Keplinger, both of Huntington, IN; three daughters, Deborah Parmelee, June Frederick, Janet Jones, all of Huntington, IN; one brother, Furl Dwight “Doc” (Charlotte) Elzey; three sisters, Wilma Colflet, Patricia Flora, and Linda Hughes, all of Huntington, IN.   She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Christopher (Christy) Platt, Michelle Platt, Bryn Keplinger, Isaac (Casey) Keplinger, Tiffany Keplinger, Jillian Keplinger, Tyson Keplinger, Tera Roughley; 10 great grandchildren, Jessie (Kyle), Olivia, Jamie, Cameron, Zach, Josilyn, Thaddeus, Aiden, Quinn, Cal; and 7 great-great grandchildren, Wade, Wyatt, Maddie, Zoey, Pasiley, Jackson and Carson.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one grandson, Jamie Frederick; and one great grandchild, Isabelle Platt.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart/Deal Rice Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.

Additional calling hours will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Services at McElhaney-Hart/Deal Rice Funeral Home.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
