Sandra “Sandy” Kay Rupert, age 70, of Huntington, IN, died on Friday, February 23, 2024, at her residence. Sandy was born in Huntington, IN, on August 27, 1953, to the late Lloyd and Daisy (Pinkerton) Hasty. She married Randall “Randy” Rupert, and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2017.
Sandy was a 1971 graduate of Huntington North High School and enjoyed her retirement after working at Square D being a trucker’s wife and going on trips with her husband. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary #2689, and a member of the American Legion Post #7 Auxiliary, and Moose Lodge #837. She attended Hope Rising Church in Huntington.
Sandy is survived by one daughter, Robin (Tim) Lee, Warren, IN; one son, Cory McClure, Roanoke, IN; and 8 grandchildren, Aries (Taryn), Malachi, Azariah, Dalton, Lane, Brandon, Kari, Kasey.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Hasty, Sr.; and one grandson, Steven Michael.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 10:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
A Graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion, IN.
