Sandra "Sandy" Lynn (Thompson) McClure

Sandra (Sandy) Lynn McClure, age 60, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne, IN.

Sandy was born on December 28, 1962, in Fort Wayne, IN, and was adopted at an early age by the loving family of the late Paul and Albertine (Offner) Thompson.  She married the love of her life, nearly 45 years ago, Timothy (Tim) McClure on June 10, 1978, and he survives in Roanoke, IN.

Sandy was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and dear friend to many. She was an 18 ½ year heart transplant survivor. She was an overcomer and defied all odds. She loved all her family and friends and will be remembered by all she knew for her strong, loving, caring personality.

Along with her husband she is survived by three daughters; Rachel (Chad) Keefer, Tara McClure, Amanda McClure all of Roanoke, IN; four grandchildren, Roxanne (Keaton) Smeltzer, Tucker McClure, Abigail Keefer, and Gianna McClure; and one great-grandchild, Theodore Smeltzer. She is also survived by two brothers, J. Steven Thompson, Gerald Thompson, both of Fort Wayne, IN;  two sisters, Nancy Grone, Barbara Williams; and many other family members and friends who impacted her life greatly.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, Danny and Jim Thompson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive Roanoke, IN  46783.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at McElhaney Funeral Home Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN,  46783, at 10:00 a.m. with an hour of calling prior from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

A private burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials are to the Lutheran Hospital Heart Transplant program in care of McElhaney Funeral Home Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN  46783.
