Sandra Sue (Cole) Whitacre

Sandra Sue Whitacre, 82, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at residence.

Sandra was born on October 15, 1938, in Wabash, IN, to Max and Dorothy (Kocker) Cole. Her parents preceded her in death.  She married Edward P. Whitacre on August 6, 1960, and he preceded her in death on November 9, 2008.

Sandra was a 1957 graduate of Huntington High School. She had worked at Our Sunday Visitor and W.G. Grants.  She was a former member of First United Church of Christ.

Sandra is survived by two sons, Scott (Roberta) Whitacre, Todd Whitacre, both of Huntington; one daughter, April Whitacre, Wabash, IN; one sister, Patricia Weeks, Columbia City, IN; 7 grandchildren, Cassandra, Austin, Lauryn, Morgan, Laycee, Natalie, Lilly; and three great grandchildren, Dixie, Gannon, and Jeremiah.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Cole.

To honor the wishes of Sandra there will be no calling or services.

A private burial will be held at Union Cemetery at a later date.
