Sadie M. (Friend) Freytag

Sadie M. Freytag, age 81, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne, IN.

Mrs. Freytag was born on April 6, 1941, in Fayette County, IN, to the late John Paul and Edith Marie (Allen) Friend.   She married Guy Don Freytag December 24, 1960 in Connersville, IN. He preceded her in death January 7, 1987.

Sadie was a 1959 graduate of Connersville High School.  She was the owner of Knotty Pine Hotel for 12 years. She was a member of the Home Ec. Club, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntington, IN.

She is survived by four daughters; Rebekah (Dean) Clabaugh, Roanoke, IN; Sarah Kaye Hammer, Huntington, IN; Cara Maye (Tracy) Marshall, Roanoke, IN; and Mary Dawn(Jerry) Tobin, Huntington, IN; two sisters, Judy Groce, Batesville, IN and Roberta Spurlock, Connersville, IN; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by, one brother, John Friend Jr., and one sister Linda Selby.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart/Deal Rice Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, Indiana 46750.

Additional calling will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Randy Dubois officiating at McElhaney-Hart/Deal Rice Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, Indiana 46750.

Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, IN.
