Ruth Ann Thomas

Ruth Ann Thomas, age 83, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Envive of Huntington. She was born on June 8, 1941, in Huntington, Indiana, to the late Brice and Bernadine (Husband) Thomas. She married Tom Thomas on August 30, 1959, and he survives in Roanoke.

Ruth graduated from Roanoke High School in 1959 and was a bus driver for Southwest Allen County Schools.  She was a member of Christ United Methodist in Roanoke. Ruth Ann had many talents. She was an excellent seamstress and did families and neighbors hair.  She was a great homemaker, cooked, canned and baked.  She loved her children and grandchildren and her favorite place to be was with her husband, family and Sanibel Island.

Along with her husband, Tom, she is survived by two sons, Michael (Janet) Thomas, Roanoke, IN, Mark (Audra) Thomas, Columbia City, IN; two daughters, Polly (Shane) Carroll, Cindy (Rance) Burns, Roanoke, IN; one brother, Nelson (Wanita) Thomas, Roanoke, IN; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by a sister Marilyn Thomas.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at McElhaney Funeral Home – Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN, 46783.

Additional calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home- Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN, 46783.

Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, IN.
