Ruth E. (Fahrnow) Stoeckley

Ruth E. Stoeckley, age 86, of Roanoke, IN passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at StoryPoint Fort Wayne West, Fort Wayne, IN.

Ruth was born on February 6, 1940, in Huntington, IN, to the late John and Pauline (Johnson) Fahrnow.  She married Robert D. Stoeckley on February 6, 1965, and he preceded her in death on December 15, 2025.

Ruth was a 1957 graduate of Huntington High School. She was a member of the Meanderer’s Winnebago Club, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke where she also sang in the church choir and Post 160 American Legion Auxiliary. Ruth enjoyed walking her dogs and riding her bike. She loved to dance and you could find her and Bob at any of the clubs that had a band. She was a trucking and restaurant owner for many years. 

Ruth is survived by one son, John (Melinda) Stoeckley, Roanoke, IN; two sisters, Nancy Wiles, Mary Florey, both of Huntington, IN; three grandchildren Zachary (Jill) Dougal, Caitlin (Shane) Wright and Ian (Candace) Stoeckley; four great-grandchildren, Anniston Dougal and Charlotte Dougal, Chase Wright and Cash Wright.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Fahrnow, Harry “Butch” Fahrnow; and two sisters, Glenna Harrison and Jacquline Mowery.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main St. Roanoke, IN 46783, followed by the Requiem Mass at 11:00 am.

Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Marion, IN, at a later date.
