Roy Blake Thacker

Roy Blake Thacker, age 74, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.  

Roy was born on May 21, 1950, in Pikeville, KY, to the late Nathaniel and Imal (Sanders) Thacker. He married Joyce Smith on May 7, 1968, and she preceded him in death on November 18, 2011.

Roy worked at Parker Corporation in Fort Wayne for many years.

Roy is survived by five daughters, Tammy Thacker, Huntington, IN, Pam (Craig) Ramsey, Warren, IN, Laura (Chad) Nunemaker, Huntington, IN, Jennifer (Chris) Parrish, Brunswick, OH, Jackie Thacker, Hartford City, IN; one brother, Eugene Thacker, Lansing, MI; 11 grandchildren, Brittany, Bridgett, Blake, Nathan, Andrew, Kaylah, Jordan, Hayleigh, Peyton, Isobel, and Tammy; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Thacker, James Thacker; and two sisters, Rosemary Thacker, Nelle Thacker; and two grandchildren, Kyle and Christopher.

The calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.  

Burial will follow at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
