Ross Patrick Wood, age 54, of Huntington, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 20th , 2024.
He was born on July 27th, 1970, in Portland, OR to Bill and Ginny Wood and was the eldest of four children. He graduated high school in Portland in 1988 and went on to graduate from college at the Oregon Institute of Technology with dual degrees in mechanical and electronic engineering. Ross was a Research and Development Engineer for Fort Wayne Metals for the past 10 years. He moved to Indiana from Washington in 2011 for work involving the wind farm in Van Wert, Ohio.
Ross was great at many things, he had numerous hobbies including woodworking, working on vehicles, electronics, a luthier and last but not least a wonderful “chef.” He enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was an excellent grill master.
He was currently the Senior Warden of the Amity Lodge #483 in Huntington, a member of the Mizpah Shriners in Fort Wayne where he was involved in the Grillmasters Club and served on the Glenwood Cemetery Board in Roanoke.
Ross and his wife, Kim, have resided in Huntington for the past 13 years. Along with his wife, Kim and his parents Bill and Ginny Wood of Camas, WA, he is survived by 2 wonderful children, daughter, Madeline Wood and son, William Wood; two sisters, Heidi Wood and Amee Wood (David Fitzgerald), one brother, Camden (Kim Willis) Wood; nephew, Paul Wood and nieces, Lucy and Alice Wood.
Ross will be greatly missed by his wife, family and friends. He was a wonderful caring husband, son, father, brother, and uncle. He was dearly loved, and it will be unbelievable without him.
Services and Interment will be private.
