Ronald "R.D." D. Hosier

Ronald D. “R.D.” Hosier, 78, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice, Fort Wayne, IN.

Ronald was born on January 12, 1942, in Huntington, IN, to Claude and Helen (Rice) Hosier. His parents preceded him in death.  Ronald married Nancy Nix on November 28, 1964.  She survives and resides in Huntington.

Ronald was a 1960 graduate of Huntington High School.  He was a Union Carpenter for 45 years and was very proud of his work helping to build One Summit Square and Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Ronald attended College Park Church in Huntington.  He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.

 Along with his wife, Nancy, he is survived by one son, Michael (Deb) Hosier, Fort Wayne, IN; one daughter, Mary Jane (Tracy) Bartrom, Huntington, IN; two brothers, Kenneth Hosier, Huntington, IN, Phillip (Cindy) Hosier, Prescott Valley, AZ; one sister, Claudia Growney, MI; and three grandchildren, Kelsey (Steven) Cady, Jared Bartrom and Billie Hosier.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one infant sister, Charlene Hosier.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

Additional calling will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
