Ronald Gene Martin

Ronald Gene Martin, age 70, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at his home. Ron was born on June 25, 1953, in Huntington, IN, to the late Harry and Velma (Schoeff) Martin.

Ron was a 1973 graduate of Huntington North High School. He worked for the City of Huntington as Water Plant Operator for 25 years. He was a member of New Hope United Brethren Church.  He was a basketball official for over 20 years, past masonic member and a member of the Huntington County Disaster Team.

Ron is survived by one son, Dane Martin, Huntington, IN; one daughter, Tiffany Harris, Tampa, FL; two brothers, Don (Jeanine) Martin, Bill (Beth) Martin, both of Huntington, IN; and three grandchildren, Rhett Tyler Martin, Jessica Harris and Dalton Harris.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Ward.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a 12:00 p.m. Memorial Service at New Hope Brethren Church, 2001 Engle Street, Huntington, IN, officiated by Rev. Amos Rawley.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the New Hope Brethren Church in care of McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN  46750.
