Robert L. Stouder, age 78, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Bob was born on October 28, 1947, in Huntington, IN, to the late Dean and Ruby (Hunt) Stouder. He married Marie Molson on November 30, 1968, and she survives and resides in Huntington.
Bob was a 1966 graduate of Huntington High School. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1971-1972. Bob earned a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and a master’s degree from Purdue/IPFW. He was a teacher and school counselor for many years and later on was the Director of Human Resources at Wabash Technologies. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #1014. Bob did many things throughout his life, but his most important role was grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and children. He also was proud to say that he had lunch every week with his childhood friends from kindergarten.
Along with his wife, Marie, he is survived by one son, Eric (Jodi) Stouder; one daughter, Sabrina Stepler, both of Huntington, IN; one brother, Mark (Carol) Stouder, Huntington, IN; two sisters, Diana (Joe) Cipilone, Fort Wayne, IN, Jeanie (John) Webb, Syracuse, IN; sister-in-law, Vicki Stouder, Pensacola, FL; and brothers-in-law, Tim Watkins, GA, and Jim Johnson, Elkhart, IN. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, America Carrillo, Zôe Carrillo, Xavier Carrillo, Phoenix Stepler, Indigo Stepler, Juniper Stepler, Scout Stepler, Ozro Stepler, Joann Reeves; and 5 great-grandchildren, Oberon Carrillo, Lincoln Carrillo, Sullivan Carrillo, Seren Carrillo, and Eri Reeves.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Stouder; and two sisters, Sharon Watkins and Judy Johnson.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, with Fr. Tony Steinacker presiding.
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
