Robert Scott Smith, age 69, of Liberty Center, IN, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, in Huntington, IN.
Robert was born on August 11, 1954, in Lake County, IN, and was raised by John and Cynthia Smith.
Robert was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School, Gary, IN, and was the owner, mechanic, and operator of Smith Transmissions in Ossian, IN. Robert was dedicated to his work and enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley.
Robert is survived by his two sons, Daniel J. (Barbie) Smith, WV, Robert (Tonia) Smith, Huntington, IN; two brothers, Mike (Jackie) Heller, Wesley Heller, both of Huntington; two sisters, Sherri Clark, Petroleum, IN, Kathy (Marvin) Sims, Huntington, IN; a close cousin and dear friend, Thomas Smith; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Lee Smith, Alexis Smith, Austin Smith; two great-grandchildren, Layla Martin and Mylah Smith.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Vicki Heller; and one grandson, Brandon Smith.
To honor the wishes of the family there will be no calling or services.
A Private burial will be at a later time.
