Robert E. Hunt

Robert E. Hunt, age 70, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.

Robert was born on June 9, 1953, in Huntington, IN, to the late Alfred L. and Edna M. (Yoder) Hunt.

Robert wasn't like you or I, he was special and unique. He was created by God and put on this earth to be that special person who touched your life and softened your heart. He was so very sweet and was loved by his family, his team of caregivers and everyone who knew him. This world was definitely a better place with him in it and now he is living in God's Kingdom with our loving parents who devoted their lives taking care of him. He is now able to do the things that he couldn't do while here on earth. So run hard, sing loudly, give big hugs, and tell mom and dad you love them for the first time. Rest in peace, Robert. When we see you again, you will be whole, and it will be amazing. We love you so very much. 

Robert is survived by one brother, Gary Hunt (Mary Ellen Scott) of Huntington; one sister, Sheri (Rick) Williams, Muncie, IN; niece, April (Alex) Morrison, Muncie, nephew, Brett Williams, Muncie. nephews, Justin Hunt, Jonah Hunt, Huntington, IN; two great-nieces; and two great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Al & Edna Hunt, sister-in-law, Tina (Gamble) Hunt, and great-nephew Conner Hunt.

Thanks to the nurses & doctors at Lutheran Hospital for their compassionate care. Stillwater Hospice was amazing, thank you.

A special thank you to Robert's team of caregivers over the years. Lee Mohrman, Amanda VanZile, Elena Witte, Kim Bailey, Moses Mihingo, Jessica Hartman and Renee Pennington. You are all the best. Robert was so lucky to have all of you in his life. He loved you all!  Thank you. 

A private service will be held at the Chapel at Gardens of Memory, Marion, IN.
