Richard Lowell Henline, Jr., age 80, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.
Richard “Dick”, was born on December 27, 1944, in Monroe, LA, to the late Richard Lowell and Marjorie Carol (Ellis) Henline, Sr. He married Julie Ann Rosebush on August 17, 1968, and she survives in Roanoke.
Dick graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1962 and proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He became a nationally accredited certified mechanic through attendance at Delta College in Saginaw, MI., after which he opened and managed Auto Mechanic shops in the Bay City, Michigan area. He later retired after 36 years as the owner operator of Starlines Express in Roanoke. He was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Huntington.
Along with his wife, Julie Ann, he is survived by two sons, Rich (Deanna) Henline, III, Roanoke, IN, Chad (Terri) Henline, Fort Wayne, IN; two brothers, Thomas Henline, Jack (Julie) Henline, both of Fort Wayne, IN; 7 grandchildren, Tyler Henline, Jenna (Andrew) Hedges, Jessica (Avery) Thurston, Carson Henline, Kierstyn Henline, Brady Henline, Cooper Henline; and one great-granddaughter, Lainey Hedges.
He was preceded in death by one son, Brandon Henline.
Services and burial will be private.
