Ray C. Collins, 83, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice, Fort Wayne, IN.
He was born on October 16, 1937, in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late Robert J. and Jane H. (Hiscox) Collins.
Ray was raised in Fort Wayne and graduated from South Side High School. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington, where he enjoyed being a member of The Singing Hoosiers and Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. After graduation he returned to Fort Wayne, joining his father, Robert J. Collins, in business at Collins Oldsmobile GMC.
Ray’s kind heart and gentle spirit turned strangers into friends and friends into family. His passions for art, music and animals could be felt and enjoyed by all around him.
Survivors include his three daughters, Sarah C. St. Charles, Half Moon Bay, CA, Elizabeth C. Brown, Dayton, OH, and Mary Martha Collins, Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary C. Cook and one grandchild, Rachel A. Brown.
A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
A private burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN.
