Phyllis A. (Reust) Ness

Phyllis A. Ness, 89, of Huntington, IN, passed away at Tipton Place in Huntington on Monday, August 10, 2020, at 8:43 a.m.                                             

Mrs. Ness was born on March 1, 1931, in Huntington, IN, to Joseph and Cecilia (Nuck) Reust. Her parents preceded her in death.  She married George A. Ness on January 23, 1954, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN.  He survives and resides in Huntington, IN. 

Mrs. Ness was a 1949 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School.  She worked at Our Sunday Visitor.   She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN.

Along with her husband she is survived by two sons, Tim (Renee) Ness, Andrews, IN, Tom (Jackie) Ness, Columbia City, IN; and four grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Ness; three brothers, Raymond Michael Reust, Leonard “Mike” Reust, John Eugene Reust; and four sisters, Josephine Kaylor, Collette Weist, Julie Martin and Mary Deloris “Lori” McClure.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN 46750, with Fr. Tony Steinacker presiding.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Petersburg, FL.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Vincent DePaul in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
