Othel Ray “Slim” Fouts, age 91, Andrews, IN, passed away at Markle Health and Rehab, Markle. IN on Thursday September 26, 2024.
Mr. Fouts was born on April 12, 1933, in Johnston County, OK, to the late Jasper and Minnie Francis (Reynolds) Fouts. Mr. Fouts married Louellen Crago on June 1, 1952. She preceded him in death May 2010.
Mr. Fouts was a Fisher Body-GM engineer in Marion, IN, for 42 years. He graduated from Rock Creek HS, class of 1951. Mr. Fouts served within the Andrews Lions Club for many years, achieving a past presidency in the organization.
Slim is survived by two sons, Joe (Natalie) Fouts, Huntington, IN, Leroy (Angela) Fouts, Cromwell, IN, and one daughter Janet Studebaker, Huntington, IN. Mr. Fouts leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, and wife he was preceded in death by two daughters, Helen Fouts and Frances Crismore. Three brothers; Jack, Melvin, and Benjamin Fouts, along with four sisters: Virgie Crews, Audry Crews, Evelyn Waldren, and Mildred Cannon, all preceded Slim in death.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 10 o’clock to 12 noon, with services to begin at Noon, at McElhaney Funeral Home 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN. Mr. Glenn Fisher will preside over service.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Andrews, IN, following service.
