Milton Leroy Meadows, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Tipton Place, in Huntington, Indiana.
Mr. Meadows was born on April 2, 1937, in Rensselaer, IN, to the late Asa B. and Eileen (Strauss) Meadows. Leroy married Mary McAdams on February 5, 1955. She survives and resides in Huntington, IN.
Leroy was a retired employee of Navistar International Harvester in Fort Wayne, IN. He had also worked in maintenance at the Huntington County Jail under Sheriff Thais Wilhelm and for fun he enjoyed working at Frazanda Golf Course. His pride and joy was his family. He loved golf and always looked forward to his yearly golf trips with family and friends. Animals were very dear to him, and he was awarded the Thurman Poe Service Award by the Humane Shelter for his volunteering that he did for the Dog Park.
Along with his wife, Mary, he is survived by three sons, Michael L. (Nancy) Meadows, Fort Wayne, IN, Daniel (Christine) Meadows, Rick (Susanne) Meadows; and one daughter, Pam (Raymond) Rudy, all of Huntington, IN; 7 grandchildren, Keith (Amy) Meadows, Malina (Dan) Sandman, Andrew (Kristen) Meadows, Cassie (Andy) Miller, Kyleigh (Jeremy) Garringer, Mariah (Brett) Evans, Teague Meadows; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Robert Meadows and James Dallas Meadows.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN, officiated by Andy Miller.
A private burial will be at a later date.
