Michael "Mike" H. Bowers

Michael “Mike” H. Bowers, age 78, of Huntington, IN, died on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at his residence in Huntington.

Michael was born on December 27, 1946, in Huntington, IN, to the late Samuel and Mary (Kline) Bowers. He married Peggy Sue Corkhill on October 6, 1978, and she preceded him in death on December 16, 2005.

Michael was a 1965 graduate of Union Township High School and proudly served in the United States Army.  He worked for over 30 years at Dana Spicer Axel in Fort Wayne and was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Michael is survived by two daughters, Amie (Chris) LaRue, Larwill, IN, Melanie (Brian) Jenks, Huntington, IN; two brothers, Kent (Nancy) Bowers, Syracuse, IN, Alan Bowers, Huntington, IN; two sisters, Kathy Wilkinson, Shelley (Rick) Paschal, both of Huntington, IN; 6 grandchildren, Scott Strater, Jr., Nicole Anderson, Nakesha LaRue, Latiesha LaRue, Tawsha LaRue, Melissa Jenks; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one great-grandchild.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.

A private burial will be at Union Cemetery, Huntington, IN, at a later date.
