Michael L. Hill

Michael L. Hill, age 51, Urbana, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  Mike was born on February 22, 1973, in Decatur, IN, to the late Stan and Janet (Hanni) Hill.  Mike married Cheri L. (McCullough) Hill on July 31, 1993, and she preceded him in death on July 8, 2021. His second marriage was to Sarah (Schroll) Hill on October 13, 2022, and she survives in Urbana, IN. 

Mike graduated from Adams Central High School in 1991.  He was Lead Pastor of Life Church in Huntington and was a full-time farmer. Mike and his family moved from Decatur to Huntington in 2004 to plant Life Church where he was the lead pastor for 20 years. Mike was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking. He loved grilling, cheering for the Bears, and coaching football. Above all else, Mike was devoted to his family and investing in the lives of others. Mike’s passion in life was to lead everyone to Jesus Christ. He lived his life through faithfulness and obedience.

Along with his wife, Sarah, Mike is survived by four sons, Brady (Emma) Hill, Wabash, IN, Corbin (Haley) Clarke, Flagstaff, AZ, Isaac (Brianna) Hill, Huntington, IN, Jeremy Clarke, Washington, IN; four daughters, Alexa (Stephen) Halstead, Warsaw, IN, Allie (Jacob) Froehlke, Huntington, IN, Abby Clarke (fiancé Mason Fox), Fairmount, IN, Bailey (Allan) Delagrange, Washington, IN; four stepchildren, Kaleb Krom, Huntington, IN, Lucas Krom, Faith Krom, Ethan Krom, all of Urbana, IN; one brother, Stan (Jen) Hill, Jr., Richmond, IN; one sister, Julie Collier, Decatur, IN; and 8 grandchildren, Hadley, Alayna, Ryanne, Liam, Solomon, Hudson, Bodhi, and Willow.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a Memorial and Worship Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Life Church, 900 E. State Street, Huntington, IN.

A private burial will be at a later date.
