Mary Lou (Weber) Wright, 93, of Huntington, IN, died on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at her son’s residence in Huntington.
Mary was born on December 15, 1927, in Williams County, OH, to Franklin and Eva Blanche (Pollock) Weber. Her parents preceded her in death. She married John (Jack) E. Wright on June 30, 1951, in Edgerton, OH, and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2005.
Mary was a career registered nurse in various capacities across southern Michigan to northern Indiana and eventually for many years at Huntington Memorial Hospital. She was the rock of her family and a stalwart United Methodist member. Her passion was serving others and watching closely and praying for the involvements of her growing family. She was often seen in hospitals and elder care facilities visiting with former patients, friends, and fellow parishioners, or driving them to their doctor appointments. It was not unusual for anyone to receive a birthday card or anniversary wish from her in the mail. Her annual calendar had hundreds of names upon it. Mary served, and served others with a passion, and served extremely well. Her legacy of loving others is a testament to her faith in Christ. Mary was a longtime member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Huntington and was involved in prayer groups and circles with the church.
Mary is survived by two sons, Joseph E. (Susan) Wright, Findlay, Ohio, Samuel L. (Brenda) Wright, Huntington, IN; and 8 grandchildren, Graham (Rachael) Wright, Molly (Blake) Mealer, Chloe Wright, Aidan (Samantha) Wright, Jackson (Hailey) Wright, Amanda (Zeth) Kratzer, Jenna (Adam) Douglas, and Matt (Jessica) Beal. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, Leighton and Everett Mealer. Kenleigh and Zayden Kratzer, Addison and Max Douglas, and Avery, Brynlee and Collin Beal.
Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Karleen S. Wright; four brothers, Donald Weber, Russell Weber, Paul Weber, Jerry Weber; and four sisters, Arlie Meyer, Gladys Skiles, Lillian Bible and Bettie Groff.
