Mary G. Lacey, 96, of Huntington, IN, and formerly of Wheaton, IL, passed away on July 4, 2024, at Heritage of Huntington, IN.
Mrs. Lacey was born on September 13, 1927, in Huntington, IN to Laurence and Susie (Anson) Hauenstein. Her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Lacey married Robert Ira Lacey on February 18, 1951, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1997.
Mary was a 1946 graduate of Clear Creek High School. She was a beauty operator and homemaker. She was a past member of D.A.R., and a former member of 1st Christian Church, Glen Ellen, IL. She was a member of St. Peter’s 1st Community Church, Huntington, IN.
Mary is survived by one son, Robert Lacey, Jr (Sharon).; one daughter, Cindy (Randy) Shafer; 3 grandchildren Gindy, Roberta and Matthew(wife Chelsey) and 2 great grandchildren Foryst and Waylon.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Kozlowski; and three brothers, John Hauenstein, Fred Hauenstein and Gene Hauenstein.
Calling hours will be July, 11, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.
Funeral Services will follow the calling at 12:00 pm at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s 1st Community Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Saints Peter 1st. Community Church or Swiss Heritage Society In Memo line put “Hauenstein Cidar Press” both in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
