Mary Margaret Ehinger

Mary Margaret Ehinger, age 68, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Parkview Regional Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.  

Mary was born on December 4, 1956, in Huntington, IN,  to the late Paul and Jacilin (Gressley) Ehinger. She was married to Fred Bolinger in 1975 and he preceded her in death in 1977.

Mary was a 1975 graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she was very active in Rosary Sodality, and with Open Door for over 26 years.  Mary was also a member of the Allen County Right to Life and was an avid member at the Parkview Huntington YMCA where you could find her swimming very early in the morning. Throughout life Mary was a caretaker and housekeeper and lived to serve and help people.  She enjoyed visiting her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity, no matter how far she would have to travel, to attend a confirmation, wedding, graduation or birthday. Mary attended Mass daily and was very proud of her faith and family.

Mary is survived by her four daughters, Sara (Kenneth) Webb, Wabash, IN, Erin (Charles) Roddis, Lathrup Village, MI, Kristina (Jason) Henik, Youngstown, OH, Jacilin (Jenna) Meehan, Essex, VT; four sons, Eric Meehan, Fort Wayne, IN, Patrick (Kari) Meehan, Avon, IN, Paul (Natalie) Meehan, Spring Lake, NC, Thomas (Ashley) Meehan, Fort Wayne, IN; brothers, Michael Ehinger, Houston, TX, Patrick (Teri) Ehinger, Dayton, OH, Robert (Geraldine) Ehinger, Fort Wayne, IN, David Ehinger, Indianapolis, IN, Mark (Ingrid) Ehinger, Indianapolis, IN; and sisters, Lisa Tipton (Michael), New Lebanon, OH, Cindy Olson (Paul), Lexington, KY, Liane Carroll (Bob), Jeanine Skordos, Ellen Bouillon (Tim), all of Fort Wayne, IN, Stephanie Berridge (George), Brooksville, FL, and Leslie Lord (Lee),  Sallisaw, OK.  Mary is also survived by 31 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Kathy and Theresa; and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Cefalde.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

Recitation of the Rosary will be led by the grandchildren on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church prior to the 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, located at 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.   Presiding over the Mass will be Fr. Thomas Zehr.

The burial will follow Mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
