Mary Ellen Bickford, age 78, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.
Mary was born on December 28, 1944, in Anderson, IN, to the late George T. and Edith V. (Austin) Bickford.
Mary graduated in 1963 from DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Indiana. She held a master’s in education from Ball State University and taught elementary for many years at Fort Wayne Community Schools. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Roanoke, IN.
Mary is survived by one brother, George Bickford, Chicago, IL: three sisters, Virginia Manning, Omaha, NE, twin sister, Martha Tucker, Richmond, IN, and Linda (Fred) Bickford-Medsker, Phoenix, AZ.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Barbara Drumm.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by an 11:00 am Funeral Service at Faith Lutheran Church, 3416 E. 900 N., Roanoke, IN 46783, with Pastor Shayne Jonker officiating.
A graveside service will follow on Thursday, January 4, at 2:30 p.m. at Union Church Cemetery, north of DeSoto UM Church located at 6309 N 500 E DeSoto, Indiana, (Delaware County).
