Mark I. Anson, 95, of Warren, IN entered his eternal rest on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. surrounded by his loved ones. He passed away at Heritage Point of Warren.
Mark` was born in his childhood home in Andrews, IN, to Thomas H. and Georgia (Noble) Anson, March 12, 1930.
Mark graduated from Dallas Township High School in 1948. He married the love of his life, Juanita (Wesco), December 31, 1950, and enjoyed 74 years together, before preceding him in death March 27, 2024. Also, Mr. Anson was predeceased by a brother, Philip Dean, at infancy, daughter Debra Gardner, son-in-law Dave Gardner, and daughter-in-law, Karen Anson.
Mark was a master farmer of corn, dairy, and community services for over 49 years. His memberships, both civic and private, were numerous: Master Farmer Award of the Prairie Farmers Association, past secretary of Huntington County Agricultural Stability Committee, Board of Trustees for Andrews United Methodist Church, past president of the Andrews Lions Club, Huntington Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, “Distinguished Purdue Agricultural Award” and agricultural alumni, National Holstein Association and “40 Year Award Member”, Board of Directors for Indiana State Holstein Association, Life Member of the National Dairy Shrine Club, Dairy Herd Improvement Association, president and secretary, Huntington County Youth 4-H Leader for ten years, Polk Township 4-H Leader for 25 years, Huntington County/Polk Township Trustee, State Trustee’s Association Member, Melvin Jones Award winner via Lion’s Club International, president of the Huntington County Historical Society, Crime Stopper Board Member, and Volunteer at Forks of the Wabash.
Mark was a true ‘people person’ who enjoyed life to the fullest; he enjoyed playing the trumpet for the residents of the Heritage Home from his balcony.
He is survived by two sons, Arden Anson of Roanoke, IN, and Aaron (Joleen) Anson of Andrews, IN, eighteen grandchildren: Jason (Michelle) Gardner, Amber (Mike) Lecher, Andrea (Jeff) White, Angie (Scott) Ulrich, Apryl (Darren) Goeglein, Autumn (Sam) Scher, John (Jodi) Anson, Molly Follis, Dolly (Derek) Blair, Evan Anson, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 11am to 1pm at the Applegate Chapel, Heritage Point, 801 N Huntington Avenue, Warren, IN, with funeral services to follow at 1pm. Reverend Gerald Moreland will preside. The burial will then take place at Union Cemetery 3688 E. 400 N. Huntington, IN 46750. Immediately following the service.
