Marjorie L. (Urschel) Smith

Marjorie L. Smith, age 74, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at her residence in Huntington.

Marjorie was born on September 28, 1948, in Ossian, IN, to the late Ralph and Betty Rose (Kinsey) Urschel.  She married Jack Smith on December 2, 1967, and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2007.

Marjorie was a 1966 graduate of Ossian High School.  She worked 12 years at Utahl American, and had also worked at Guardian Industries and Pyle Industries.  She was a hard working woman and for 10 years worked two full-time jobs.  She enjoyed watching Joyce Meyer Ministries on TV and she lived by God, Country and Bible.

Marjorie is survived by two sons, Michael (Star) Smith, Milford, IN, Scott Smith, Huntington, IN; one daughter, Melisse Brosamer, AL; two sisters, Claudia Christman, PA, Kimberly Pierce, MN; six grandchildren, Michael Robert Smith, Trinity Smith, Holli Smith, Grayson Smith, Travis Brosamer, Brandon Brosamer; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Crystal Michelle Smith.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart/Deal Rice Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.

Additional calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with a Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Neil Kinsey officiating.

Burial will follow at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington, Indiana.
