Marilyn “Sue” Widelski, 75, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice in Fort Wayne.
Sue was born on November 24, 1945, in Mishawaka, IN, to Lawrence F. and Mariellen (Eberly) Nix. Her parents preceded her in death. Sue married Richard Widelski on May 4, 1968. He survives and resides in Huntington, IN.
Sue graduated in 1964 from South Bend Washington High School. Sue was employed at Noll Printing and in the Auditor’s office at the Huntington County Courthouse. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, IN, a member of the Pastoral Council, Open Door Coordinator, baker and deliverer, a volunteer for Love, Inc, and gave her time to many other charitable groups.
Sue enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. She loved playing cards and games with her family and grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Dick, she is survived by three daughters, Christi (Michael) McElhaney, Huntington, IN, Jacki (Jeff) Rude, Fort Wayne, IN, Vicki (Jon) Wirth, Fishers, IN; one son, Stephen (Gelyn) Widelski, Leesburg, VA; one sister, Ann Moretz; and one brother, Joel Nix; both of San Antonio, TX. Sue is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Brittany Scher, Courtney Scher, Lindsey Scher, Graham Scher, Jake Rude, Zach Rude, Malori Rude, Isaac Rude, Max Wirth, Maddie Wirth, Andrew McElhaney, and Mitchell McElhaney.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750, with Recitation of the Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 25, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN with Father Thomas Zehr, Father Stephen Colchin and Father Tony Steinacker presiding.
A private burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN, at a later date.
