Marie (Harris) Johnson

Marie Johnson, age 88, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at St. Anne Victory Noll, Huntington, IN.             

Mrs. Johnson was born November 1, 1934, in Weeksbury, KY, to the late Grant and Sarah (Hall) Harris.  Mrs. Johnson married Onsby C. Johnson on September 15, 1953, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 2023.

Marie had worked in assembly at Triad Utrad and retired from Square D in Huntington.  She was a member of the Erie Freewill Baptist Church, Wabash, IN. Marie enjoyed quilting, crocheting and traveling with her husband and doing activities with her church.

Marie is survived by one son, Kenneth (Marla) Johnson, Andrews, IN; one daughter, Debra (Richard) McHenry, Huntington, IN; two brothers, Hairl (Opal) Harris, Winchester, KY, Tommy (Barbara) Harris, Huntington, IN; four sisters, Geraldine (Orbin) Hall, Patsy Blair, Ethel Mygrant, all of Huntington, IN and Irene (Blane) Caudill, TN; and a half-sister, Frances Vanderpool, Wabash, IN.   She is also survived by five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl Harris, Robert Harris, Corbin Harris, and Alton Harris

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 10:00 am. to 12:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 p.m., at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN, with Evangelist Todd Masters and Pastor Bill Crank officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
