Lewis "Mike" Michael Jacobs

Lewis Michael “Mike” Jacobs, age 80, of Huntington, IN, passed onto his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, while surrounded by his family.   

Mike Jacobs was born on October 27, 1942, in Wabash, IN, to the late Lewis I. and Martha Mae (Oldfather) Jacobs. He married Kathleen Anne Griffiths on April 24, 1966. She survives and resides in Huntington.

Mike was a 1961 graduate of Roanoke High School.  He served in the United States Navy on the USS Wasp CV-18 as a Boiler Technician from 1961-1966. He was a long-time farmer in Clear Creek Township and worked at Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne for 36 ½ years before retiring. He was a member of Faith Chapel Church of Goblesville. Mike was also active in the Huntington County Farm Bureau Incorporated and the Beech Grove Cemetery Association. He loved to talk about farming, tell stories, and make people laugh with his jokes, usually while drinking coffee or a 4-H Fair milkshake.

Along with his wife he is survived by son, Paul (Heidi) Jacobs, Huntington; daughter, Mary Jacobs, Marion, IN; granddaughter, Kathleen (Pritesh) Patel, West Lafayette; grandson, Timothy Jacobs, North Manchester; brother, Sam Jacobs, Roann; and brother-in-law, Walter Fulton, Andrews.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by sister, Linda Fulton; and parents-in-law, Herman and Verna Mae Griffiths.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Faith Chapel Church of Goblesville, 2978 W – 1100N, Huntington, IN 46750.

Additional calling hours will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Chapel Church of Goblesville, with Pastor Jason Parsons officiating.

A burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
