Leonard “Gene” E. Callahan, age 90, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at The Waters of Huntington.
Gene was born on January 12, 1934, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Leonard and Dorothy Callahan.
After graduation, Gene served in the United States Army. He retired from Rea Magnet Wire in Fort Wayne, IN.
Gene is survived by two sons, Patrick (fiancé Caramela Landiza) Callahan, Columbia City, IN, Kevin Callahan, Azle, TX; one daughter, Debbie (Eddie) Bedoun, Plymouth, MI; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Roberta Lynn Luffman; one brother, William J. Callahan; and two sisters Patricia Platt and Shirley Beekman.
To honor the wishes of Gene there will be no calling or service hours.
A private burial will be at a later date.
