Larry Alva Holmden, age 86, a resident of Rockford, MI, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at his daughter’s residence in Andrews, IN.
Larry was born on September 22, 1939, in Greenville, MI, to the late Floyd and Mable (Roland) Holmden.
Larry was a 1957 high school graduate in Greenville, MI. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and then in the Army Reserves. He worked in construction during his life and was talented in woodworking. Larry was involved with the FFA Vocational Agriculture.
Larry is survived by his children, Tammy (Floyd) Howe, Eden, ID, Bonita (Rick) Stevens, Andrews, IN, Chase Nobis, Lyons, MI, Thomas Holmden, Kansas City, KS; two sisters, Lauralee and Loretta; 9 grandchildren, Keith (Casey), Cieristin, Marcus (Kristin), Derek (Lauren), Nick, Trever, Tommy (Coda), Noah, Liam; and 9 great-grandchildren, Breanna (Marshall), Abran, Josiah, Hayden, Ivy, Evelynn, Olivia, Jackson, Josie; and one great-great-grandchild, Hendrex.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kenny Holmden; and one sister, Patricia Olsen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Greenville, MI.
There will be a private family burial.
